The Municipal Port Fund of Lefkada is an inter-municipal Legal Entity under Public Law of the Municipalities of Lefkada and Meganisi, based in the Municipality of Lefkada. It was established with the P.D. 76/2004, published in the Official Gazette. 57A / 2004, in accordance with the provisions of article 28 of Law 2738/1999, and was put into operation based on no. 46 of Law 4071/2012 and No. 2064/941 / 20-2-2014 decision of the Secretary General of Decentralized Administration of Peloponnese, West. Greece & Ionian.
It is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, whose composition is as follows:
a) Four members from the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Lefkada,
b) Three members from the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Meganisi,
c) A citizen or Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Lefkada,
d) Port Authority of Lefkada, ex officio according to article 244 of Law 3463/2006.
According to article 244 par. 3 of Law 3463/2006, the President and the non-elected members of the Board of Directors are appointed by a decision of the Municipal Council of Lefkada. The Vice President is elected according to the provisions of par. 1 of article 240 of Law 3463/2006. The term of office of the members of the Board of Directors is defined by the decision of their appointment and always ends with the installation of the new Board of Directors.
The Chairman and the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors are appointed by a decision of the Municipal Council of Lefkada. In the Internal Service Organization of D.L.T.L. there are two vacancies for permanent staff. The first one is a job opening for Administrative-Finance and the second is for Administrative-Accounting. Only one job vacancy has been filled while in D.L.T.L. there is an employee that has been transferred from Municipality of Lefkada.
